IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENTS- PLEASE READ!
The Temporary Closure of All Illinois High School Equivalency Testing Centers has been extended through May 31, 2020.
To reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Illinois Shelter in Place directive given by Governor Pritzker through Executive Order 2020-10 has been extended through May 31, 2020. The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) will follow this directive and will continue the closure of all Illinois High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing Centers including public-facing, private and walk-in testing facilities.
ICCB staff is available remotely to answer test-taker questions, handle education and employment verifications as well as to process other requests, within our capability. Most of these requests are handled through the Regional Office of Education (ROE). Test-takers can access official records through the ROE offices throughout the state. Locate the ROE office in your area at: http://iccbdbsrv.iccb.org/roesearch/citysearch.cfm. Additional information is located on our website at: https://www.iccb.org/adult_ed/illinois-high-school-equivalency/ or Cook County at: http://www.cookcountyhse.org/.
Provisional Waiver for the Constitution Test Requirements
Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) has temporarily postponed the administration of the U.S. and Illinois State Constitution and the Flag Test (“Constitution Test”) through May 31, 2020. To receive a High School Equivalency (HSE) Certificate in Illinois, candidates are required to complete and pass one of the three approved vendor HSE exams (GED®, HiSET®, or TASC™) as well as the Constitution Test. During the period of time in which testing is unavailable for the Constitution Test, to avoid undue hardship on test takers who have already completed their GED®, HiSET®, or TASC™ exam, the ICCB has instituted a provisional waiver of the Constitution Test requirement.
Test-Takers should contact the Regional Office of Education where their exam was taken. To locate this office, click on the following link: http://iccbdbsrv.iccb.org/roesearch/citysearch.cfm.
